I find it desirable for variations to arise from the score – variations that I might have never thought of. To me, performance scores are specifically for people to create and experience something new and personal and not to reproduce something rigid. The new excites me more than the already existing – passing on a trace of the original with every variation. So be open to finding your own way because there is no right way.
