Project Description
Artur Miranda Azzi – October 28, 2018 – A Necropolitical Portrait
Choose two pages from the seventh and/or the twenty-first chapter of the book “Authoritarian Personality” by Sanford, Adorno, Frenkel-Brunswik, Levinson and Morrow. The horizontal axis of the chart is related to time and should last until the complete recitation of the selected pages.
The text can be found online at the following link: www.ajcarchives.org/main.php?GroupingId=6490
Recite the pages aloud. The vertical axis influences the speed of the recited text, that is, the higher the line of the chart, the faster the succession of words. At zero, the text must be spoken extremely slowly. The ways of enunciating speech are free (except for the speed of recitation) but always seeking a semantic clarity of the text. It is important to mention that the graph serves as a guide, therefore there is no need to interpret the graph with extreme precision.
This score was realized in spring 2021 and presents a fixed chart that reflects the current catastrophic political situation in Brazil. In this sense, the chart could be updated for each performance (according to information from the COVID-19 Data Repository of the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University) and the performative result will depend on the course of the pandemic and political situation of the country.
